It’s hard to think that Luke Bryan is anything other than… well, Luke Bryan. With sold-out shows, a long list of No. 1 hits, and a larger-than-life personality, his name has become synonymous with country music. What if he had never been discovered?
Recently, the cast of american idol had the courage to think about this question. In a commercial for season 20, the three judges – Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie – and host Ryan Seacrest imagined what their lives would have been like if they had never been lucky.
The clip shows each of them in roles other than the ones we know and love them for. For Bryan, it’s about tossing drinks — more like shots — to patrons of his own bar while singing “One Margarita.” That’s not far off, as he does have a bar and restaurant in Nashville called 32 Bridge (although there isn’t a bar, as far as we know).
The “Up” singer shared the video on social media, noting his cocktail skills.
“I can make a mean margarita, ask the birthday girl @linabryan3, but I’m glad that music thing worked out,” he wrote.
Bryan’s most recent album is from the 2020s Born here Live here Die here. The country superstar currently appears on american idol Sunday and Monday nights on ABC, and he’ll spend the summer on the road on his Raised Up Right Tour, which kicks off June 9 in Charleston, WV, and runs through October 28, when it wraps up at Jacksonville, Florida. Riley Green and Mitchell Tenpenny will join Bryan on the road as his supporting acts.
